As I thought about what I felt God wanted me to see and invite me into this week, I am lead to embrace more fully the covenant that we have between us. The strongest testimony that I can offer the world is a commitment to be more fully aligned with God’s teachings. Through my readings, I think the biggest turn-off for those not connected to a community of faith is inauthentic living. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth and gave them warning that they should do everything in their power not to be the kind of testimony that makes someone lose their faith. My mother does not attend church. She hasn’t been able to see my living testimony because we have for many years lived hours apart from one another. The best testimony I can give to her and others that don’t have an intimate relationship with Jesus is to demonstrate as much as I can, when I can, what a covenant relationship with God looks like.
