As I entered into prayer today, I felt the spirit move me to see how much love mothers have for their children. As I conversed with a mother of three sons today ages 17-22, I saw love even through the most basic conversation. She didn’t call them “kids,” or complain about how much they eat when she mentioned that they have several mealtimes. She just seemed to love them completely and provide them agency like Jesus. I also thought about institutional sin. I thought about women who lack the time to be better mothers. Those who can’t afford to take off. Those who are never given a paid vacation. Those mothers who do not have someone to partner with in raising a child. Almighty God, give strength and witness for the church to recognize the struggles of our families. Amen.
